The House

A Global Design House Crafted in Lagos

ABOUT

A Global Design House

Crafted in Lagos

Zashadu is a design house built on restraint, material intelligence, and the quiet discipline of craft.

Each object begins in Lagos, where reclaimed and surplus leather are transformed through careful construction into pieces that carry both memory and intention.

The work moves between structure and expression-objects that feel calm, precise. and enduring.

Founder

Zainab Ashadu

Zainab Ashadu founded Zashadu as an exploration of material, craft, and form.

Trained across architecture, luxury design, and global fashion systems, her work approaches leather as both structure and narrative- something that can hold memory, tension, and transforma-tion.

Rather than seasonal cycles, Zashadu develops work through chapters: focused explorations of material, ges-ture, and construction.

Each piece is designed and crafted in Lagos.

ATELIER

The Atelier

Every Zashadu object is developed and crafted in Lagos.

Inside the studio, reclaimed and surplus leathers are cut, woven, stitched, and assembled by hand. The process is deliberate and patient, construction revealing its own rhythm.

The house works primarily with reclaimed leather: materials rescued from the margins of the industry and given new form through careful design.

Nothing wasted

Everything transformed

PHilosophy

Design Without Excess

Zashadu believes that luxury does not come from excess, but from restraint.

Objects are reduced to what matters, material, proportion, movement, and the quiet intelligence of construction.

Each piece must justify its existence through craft.

Chapters

THE HOUSE

Zashadu develops work through chapters.

Each chapter explores a focused idea, a material, a thought, or a structure — allowing the house to evolve slowly and intentionally.

Alongside the chapters are The Exception pieces: singular objects created outside the rhythm of collections.

Together they form the language of the house.
