ZASHADU X AFRICAN ARTISTS’ FOUNDATION – YOUTH EMPOWERMENT THROUGH CREATIVE ART
In conjunction with African Artists’ Foundation, and Ford Foundation, we’re pleased to announce a series of workshops aimed at skill development, as part of the Youth Empowerment through Contemporary Art, program. The first workshop took place in Alara, Lagos and was attended by students from Girls Academy Senior Secondary school in Isale Eko, Lagos.

“Let me show you what this simple but sharp tool can do” Cristina looks more fixated on my braids, however!

Vivian, my right hand woman, shows off the Easy Fold Pouch we had just made.

Babangida entertains our guests and attempts to bottle shine in unfamiliar surroundings. Usually he is sat on the floor atop a glass pane, moving at lightning speed, turning dull, freshly dyed leather into glossy and glistening skins.

The girls each made a Zip Pouch they could take home with them. It was fun watching them choose their leathers and getting excited by the entire process.
